The Garden Gateway to Community Health This month’s workshop will focus on how to remove toxins and build nutrient rich garden soil that produces nutrient rich foods. In addition, Learn how to turn winter’s harvest into hearty winter soups that warm your home while nourishing your body. CSU hosted its first Earth Day celebration in 2009. The day also marked the official launch of CSU’s Veggie Bus with a ribbon cutting by Councilwoman Jan Perry.

Earth Day 2010
Deepest thanks to all of you who helped make Earth Day South LA a HUGE success. Last year’s event attracted 300 people, this year we had 1,500 folks come out to enjoy a day of local music, art, food, vendors, information tables and just all round fun! At the end of the event Normandie Avenue Elementary School was left with 4 amazing pieces of art that have transformed the school.

Earth Day Celebration and Veggie Bus Launch April 18, 2009
With support from the Goldhirsh Foundation and dozen’s of community partners and supports CSU hosted its first Earth Day celebration in 2009 in partnership with Normandie Avenue Elementary School, one of our longest standing partners. The day also marked the official launch of CSU’s Veggie Bus with a ribbon cutting by Councilwoman Jan Perry. The day was filled with live music, games and activities for kids; yoga, capoeira and bike maintenance workshops, healthy food and smoothie bar and much much more...
